MEMORY FOAM/TEMPER FOAM Memory foam or temper foam was made by NASA in the 1970’s to help cushion test pilots during flights. Memory foam is made of POLYURETHANE which is a type of polymers* which are connected and form little bubbles of air. This makes it so that while there is pressure on the foam it molds around the object that is putting the pressure on it. When there is no pressure on the foam it goes back to its normal shape. * Poly means many and mer means molecules, so polymers are many molecules that are together.
